Huffpo had an article questioning whether the media was overplaying Clinton's "moment" at the end of that debate. I read it as an enthusiastic crowd congratulating both candidates at what was the apparent end of the debate. I did not read it as a response to her specific comment. also, John Edwards said almost the same thing earlier this year.
I really don't know; you certainly could be right. It could even be that the crowd really the fact that she invoked one of her husband's more famous debate lines. My only point is the blatant hypocrisy of ripping off Bill's closer in the very same debate as her "change you can Xerox" attack.
